An informative workshop for pregnant women and their partners.
A baby’s first relationship teaches them whether they can trust that their needs will be met. Babies have a fundamental need to feel safe.
Babies who develop a good emotional bond and who attach with at least one special adult, can explore the world knowing that they are safe.
So how do we ensure that our babies develop healthy attachment?
ATTACHMENT & BONDING
Learn how you can prepare your baby to feel safe and to be resilient.
An understanding of how your baby experiences the world, and how they learn to respond to these experiences is invaluable as you can then take the necessary steps to guide the process.
Choosing a birthing option
We will consider the various birthing options and the impact which these may have on your baby.
Life happens! Birthing plans may have to change. You can’t always decide on what exactly will unfold, or on how your baby will enter the world.
However, being equipped with an understanding of what your baby is likely to need most, and of what is important to his or her emotional wellbeing and development can guide some of the choices which you are able to make.
BREASTFEEDING
Breastfeeding is a natural process, and women have been doing it for eons.
It can however be really difficult for a new mother and baby to establish breastfeeding and to ensure a good milk supply. Women who are equipped with knowledge and understanding of the value and of the process of breastfeeding, are able to make better choices for themselves and for their babies.
This workshop can help to equip mothers and their partners with this essential, accurate and evidenced-based information.
This workshop does not replace the very necessary weekly birth preparation antenatal classes offered by midwives and birthing coaches.
This two-part workshop is offered either in person or as an online option, and is best presented on two different days. This course makes a perfect Baby Shower Gift to welcome a new baby.
